Veterans Positions and Views
Veterans, a General Statement As a nation we owe no greater debt of gratitude to any group than to our veterans. Our country has called on our servicemen and women many times throughout history, and true to form, they answered the call. We must ensure that when our veterans call on us, we are there to answer. Whether it is health care, retirement benefits, education, disability assistance or counseling, we made promises to our veterans and must never waiver in our stand to fulfill those promises. As your Senator, I will never lose sight of the fact that the benefits earned by veterans are just that, earned. Blood, sweat and, many times, life and limb have been given in defense of our nation. Veterans and their families deserve the best that our nation can offer. I'll do my part to make sure they get it.
